Arab Influence

Spain was conquered on April 23rd of the year 711 b.c. In less than eight years the muslim leaders conquered nearly all of Spain.

Spain was given the new name of Al-Andalus and it adopted part of the Islamic culture.

Arabic is the official language in 20 countries and approximately 250 million people use it. This language has a very long tradition in history.

Andalucia is the part of Spain with the most Arabic style buildings. The most important example is the mosque in Cordoba which was built between the 9th and the 10th century.
