Nadia's Farm Diary--Wednesday

Nadia's Diary

What we did: Today we moved the chicks to a new pen in order to make room for new chicks. We had to stop some from escaping. They squirmed a lot. We put them in big crates. Then we had to clean the chick house. It smelled horrible. We wore masks, but they didn’t help much. We saw all the potatoes we had collected yesterday. We also arranged flowers. We put big and small flowers in order.

What we learned: Potatoes can be the size of a pea. I saw one that was even smaller. I also learned that there can be more than one potato growing under each plant. Another thing I learned is that getting zapped by an electric farm fence feels like a huge jolt.

What I liked most: I liked jumping into the water because it was so hot outside today.

What I liked least: I did not like moving chicks because they were smelly and they pecked at my hair. They escaped their crates and pooped everywhere.
