How We Worked
We worked together to build this site by meeting together. We started this project when we were in
third grade. We met almost every week. We usually met at one of our houses. We worked on most of the games in school. We researched over the summer by visiting farms and asking the farmers many questions about organic farming. We visited farms, went to farm camp, grew a garden and interviewed farmers.
Challenges
The hardest part about this project was probably researching. The second hardest part was organizing the information. We overcame these challenges by working together and thinking as one mind!
Thinking Globally
This website talks about farms in Germany, Hawaii and the mainland United States. Our topic affects the world because everyone needs food. Our team has connections to Bangladesh, Germany, Hawaii, and the mainland United States.
The Team Members
Anne
My name is Anne, I'm in fouth grade, and I like to horseback ride and read. I mostly read horse books, but sometimes I read other books like mysteries and Harry Potter. I would love to become a professional horseback rider when I grow up.
I live with my Mom, Dad, two sisters and five parakeets. I was born in Germany, where I lived until I was two. All my relatives live there. Every summer my family and I spend our summer vacation in Germany.
For the ThinkQuest project I researched, made some games, and helped make the website. I really enjoyed making the site, but did not really like inserting pictures. Overall I really liked the project.
Nadia
Hi, my name is Nadia and I'm in fourth grade. I like to read Harry Potter and other fiction books. I run track, play tennis, play soccer, and swim. I have one older brother, one older sister, and two cats called Hamlet and Jezebelle.
I’m half Bengali and part German and Irish. My dad came from Bangladesh and is all Bengali. I visit Bangladesh usually once a year and one year I visited a chicken farm my dad had started and a village that raised organic fish.
While working on this website I enjoyed making videos and going to farm camp. I also enjoyed taking pictures of different farms and learning about them. Sometimes I enjoyed building the web site. I learned that growing a garden organically can be hard work that doesn’t always pay off, but still I enjoyed learning this.
Vaughan

I am in 4th grade. I like to horseback ride in my free time. I would like to be an equine vet when I grow up. I love to read books about horses and other animals. My favorite sport is horseback riding because I like spending time with the horses. I have one brother. I have a pony and a miniature dachshund. I was born in Hawaii and spend every summer there.
I liked how we worked through all the challenges in ThinkQuest. I very much enjoyed learning about organic farming because we got to visit many different interesting farms. I learned that organic farming is better for you and that organic farms are usually smaller than conventional farms.
I visited the Worm Farm and Ma'o Farms, both in Hawaii. I did research and helped build the website. I enjoyed making the website because it was easier than researching.
Will
I am in 6th grade. I like to fly radio controlled aircraft, build model aircraft, and build and launch
model rockets. I would like to be either a pilot or in the space program when I grow up. I like to read mystery and fantasy books. I am an ice hockey player.
I have one sister. I have a Leopard gecko and some fish. We also have a dog. I was born in Hawaii and lived there until I was almost 4 years old. We go back to Hawaii every summer and I like to go fishing when I am there.
My role on the team is being the webmaster. It was fun building the website. I learned how to use new computer software.
