Organic Basics--Taste Test

Taste Test

We did our study because we wanted to find out if organic grapes are tastier than non-organic grapes. We also did this because we read that organic food is usually tastier than non-organic food, but now we think we have proof that more people like non-organic food better than organic food.

To conduct this study we asked 15 people to taste organic and non-organic grapes. Then the 15 people had to tell us which kind of grape they liked better. We bought purple non-organic and organic grapes that were grown in Mexico. Ten classmates and 5 family members participated in this test.

Out of the 15 people that participated 8 liked non-organic grapes, 4 liked organic grapes, and 3 couldn’t make up their minds.

We found out that the majority of people like non-organic grapes. Some limitations of this test are that a lot of people were used to non-organic food so they would think the non-organic grapes were tastier, and the organic grapes were older so they might have lost some of their taste. This was also a very small study so the information might not be reliable. To determine whether organic food is tastier we should do a larger test.
