Garden Diary--June

JUNE

Today we had some organic spinach, and it was okay. Luckily, we picked it soon because a day later, the spinach leaves had been chomped by a bunny. Another disaster came when a plank of wood fell on some of our tomatoes! At least the squash are safe.

I’ll tell you about the not so good plants. The peppers (bottom left) are turning yellow. We are taking special care of them because there are only three. The onions (bottom right) are thinning themselves out. At least the ones we have are tall. Then our cilantro (bottom middle) is small and spread out. It’s lucky that the bugs don’t eat them.

Some plants grow too much. The tomatoes (bottom left) are big and tangley. But they are still doing well. The radishes are way too crowded in a little space. The carrots (bottom right) don’t have enough room to grow. We will have to thin them.
