Nintendo Wii

            The Nintendo Wii is pronounced we. The Wii is a seventh generation era video game. When it was being made it was called the “Revolution.” It was created by the Nintendo company, just like the Gamecube. It competes against the Xbox 360, which was made by Microsoft. It also competes against the PS3 which was created by Sony. A very cool part of the Wii is its controller. It is a handheld motion and rotation detecting game device. The Wii also has Wiiconnect24, which allows it to enter the internet without using much power. Nintendo first talked about this video game during the 2004 E3 meeting. They later showed the console at the 2005 E3. Satoru Iwata announced a prototype of a controller during the Tokyo Game Show in September, 2005.During the 2006 E3 the Wii won the Game Critics Award for having the Best Show and Best Hardware. In the issue of Popular Science in December, 2006 the Wii won the Grand Award Winner of Home Entertainment. Some stores started selling the Wii in 2006, others did not. Some of the games were Avatar: Last Airbender, Call of Duty 3, dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2, Ennichi no Tatsujin, Far Cry: Vengeance, Gottlieb Pinball Classics, and Happy Feet.
