Harriet Tubman
Araminta Ross, known as, Harriet Tubman is a black female that became famous during the height of the time of slavery because she was the conductor of the Underground Railroad. Tubman was able to help over 300 slaves become free within ten-years. She stated that during all of her journeys she had never lost any of her passengers. Harriet was born in the year of 1820. She was born into slavery in Dorchester County, Maryland. During her early years she worked as a servant, but when she became older she began to work out in the fields.
