Virginia declared that all slaves that were imported would have to be slaves forever and could never be released. However things seemed too improved as New York declared it legal for slaves to sell goods. There was also a law passed stating that no slave could bear arms and if they did at anytime, they would be killed immediately, even if it was to save their master. Slavery seems to have gotten really popular as New England has now entered the African slave trade. During this time, the use of beating and whipping slaves is now in effect. A law was passed saying that no slave could testify any case in a courtroom because they were property and not legal citizens of the US.
