About Us
This section is will give you some idea about the creators of this website. Our team consisted of six members, each coming from different backgrounds and each possessing different talents. Aditya, Samir and Divakar were the main programmers. Aditya, who was most devoted to the site, lead the team and created the flash version. Divakar and Samir made the HTML versions of the site. Neil and Monica made sure all the sources were properly cited and that there were no grammatical mistakes. Adrien was the French translator. Interests:
Aditya's favorite sports are basketball, cue sports, tennis and fishing, but takes basketball very seriously. He is an active member of his school team for basketball and tennis. Aditya is a serious pianist, having recorded the "Flight of the Bumblebee" for the Intro-movie. He will be taking the Trinity College grade 5 exam this year, and intends to complete the performance level exam. In his free time, Aditya loves to chat online, play his favourite sports, play the piano and create flash videos.
Role:
The Leader of the team and the flash expert, Aditya designed the overall layout of the Flash Version, and created most of the animations present. Aditya created the site demo, which was useful, especially for the younger audience, who would find it easier to navigate through the site. The idea of the flash intro movie was thought of by Aditya, which was later created and programmed by Divakar. On entering the competition, Aditya started learning flash from scratch, and reached a high level in it within a few weeks of work.
Interests:
Samir's favorite sports are swimming and squash. He is an active member of his school swim team. In his free time, Samir likes to hang out with friends, swim, and spend time creating programs in all sorts of languages. He also plays the piano, having taken an exam and is a member of the Rotary Club.
Role:
Samir created the interactive
quizzes and using the same layout from the text-only version, created the
text-graphics version. The site was incomplete without his JavaScript and DHTML
effects, and his expertise in FrontPage, which helped bring up the site. Samir
also recreated some of the images to match our site background and layout using
Photoshop. Samir, along with Aditya used his leadership skills to help resolve
any problems while working on the project.

Interests:
Divakar's favourite sports are soccer and basketball. He also plays the piano. In his free time, Divakar likes to play games on the computer, read and play his favourite sports and practice the piano. He also likes to make flash movies, games and experiment with different programming languages.
Role:
The researcher of the team, Divakar edited all the information to make it easy for the intended audience to understand. All the information you see on the site was researched, collected sorted, formatted, and edited by Divakar. He also designed and created the flash intro movie. Divakar created the text only version of the site and programmed some of the games.
Interests:
Adrien's favorite sports are
soccer and tennis. He is interested in computers and boating. Adrien also enjoys
photography and cooking and spends his free time playing video games. Adrien
also likes to write programs in HTML and C#.
Role:
He is the native French speaker in
our team and hence translated all versions of our site into French, without
which our site would have been inaccessible and meaningless to the French
speaking community around the world.. Adrien gave us a lot of good ideas for
games and the quizzes, which were later completed by Aditya, Samir and Divakar.

Neil:
Interests:
Neil's favourite sports are soccer
and cricket, and is working towards being a member of the school teams. He took
part in the school's annual drama production, and intends to continue doing so
in the future. Even though he doesn't play any instruments, he does sing. In his
free time, Neil likes biking, reading and surfing the net.
Role:
Neil checked the site for plagiarism, and collected all the citations required for the site. He also found the images, videos, and animations which made the site come alive. Neil created the "Acknowledgements" page, and helped design the layout for the Fun Zone. He invited people to test the site and give us their ratings and arranged for a high quality camera for the team photos. Neil also wrote all the quiz questions in the "Fun Zone" section of the site.
Interests:
Monica's favorite sports are
swimming and badminton. She is very interested in the Arts such as Drama and
Art. Writing is a passion and she writes stories online and she spends her free
time reading, surfing the net, and being with friends. She hopes to do
journalism and photography later in life.
Role:
She edited the website to make
sure there were no grammatical mistakes, and helped Divakar write information
for the planets. Monica wrote the "Global Perspectives" section in About Us, as
well as the "Bio", "Interests" and "Role" paragraphs in the individual
information for each of the team members.
