Hot Topic, Cooling Views

Global warming has become a "Hot Topic" and it concerns everyone on this planet. The effects of global warming can change the face of countries, the lives of Earth's people, and forever wipe out some of our most beloved creatures of land and sea. So we tried to break it down in parts that make the whole more understandable. We wanted to take a good look at a heated issue and give our readers "Cooling Views", snapshots of the different ways we can help save the planet. In our search for answers, we found many people in that were already doing something to help a hot planet. This felt like a breathe of fresh air for us. It is important to take a rational look at the issues, to really understand everything that is happening.

Views of Alaska, one of our beautiful locations at risk.

We also found there were so many interlocking problems with the environment that it was hard to narrow down the topic of global warming. It was like a big knot: water, land, air, pollution, water shortages, economics of struggling countries, exactly why global warming was happening at this point in Earth's history, and the politics of "going green".

So we created a site where students our age, twelve and under, could go to get the basic facts on global warming. Then we provided links that gave more in-depth information on global warming. Each page on the menu bar introduces a different aspect of global warming, where you will find basic information and perspectives from the team members. Then, the subject is broken down into sub groups.

Through our search of hundreds of websites we found some amazing information with organizations and people who really want to help the Earth. What was at first a disheartening subject, became an encouraging quest.

We hope you really enjoy our website and we also hope that it inspires anyone who visits it to take action!

bob

Bob King was resurrected from Matt's second grade comic strip. Matt created Bob King a long time ago and we all agreed it was time for him to say something again! The iceberg is a symbol for what is happening right now on the planet.
