Help

We have put up this section to offer help to people who have trouble using this site.

What is the best way to learn from this site?

We have approached the issue of Time from a number of perspectives, starting with a Trip through Time, moving on to Our Perception of Time and the issues surrounding it as well as how it affects us globally. We suggest that you start off with a trip through time to get a grasp of the fundamentals of Time, and then proceed to the other two sections. We realized that reading alone is just not enough, so be sure to read the summary slideshows and quizzes.

How can I keep track of what I read on the site and take notes?

It's really straight forward. Simply click 'Notepad' on the widget bar above the text, and our notepad will appear above the content of the page. You can enter text and make notes, saving it when you are done. Click 'Notepad' at any time to see what you've written.

Is there a way for me to know quickly what is covered in your website?

You might want to make use of the search engine and the sitemap for this. The sitemap provides a bird’s eye view of all the pages in this website, and their organizational hierarchy. You can also take a look at our site's tagcloud to get a quick overview of the site's content.

The website takes a very long time to load.

While designing this website, special care has been taken to consider the needs of the people with slow internet connection. We felt that this website must be easily accessed by as many people as possible. You can use the “Switch off images” feature located at the top of the page to browse the site without the images and Flash elements. This would considerably speed up the site’s loading time.

Is there a printer-friendly version of the site that I can use to print?

No worries. Just print the page normally, and the printer-friendly version of the site would be automatically printed. By using Cascading Style Sheets, we have ensured that the print version of the site is graphically less intensive by removing large pictures, animations and banners.

The website does not render properly. Images are thrown out of place, and the layout appears haphazard.

We have tested this site, and it works well across all modern Internet browsers such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari and Opera. If you are using an outdated browser, we suggest that you upgrade it to get a more optimum user experience.

The search engine does not work. Neither do the “Switch off images” and other interactivities.

This is probably because your Internet browser either does not support Javascript, or you have disabled Javascript. Enable Javascript, and try again.
