Internet and computers in our lives

Nowadays Internet bacame one of the most widespread ways of communication,education and exchange. Internet create new way of communication and find creative ways to manage a process of studying and communicating.

In particular we want to focus on the role on Internet in promoting cultural exchange and tolerance among students all around the world leading to international peace and understanding as well as solution of global issues together.

Cultural diversity is made possible though freedom of expression, equal access to media, and communication technology. The freedom and ability to make your opinions , ideas and beliefs known as an important step in the attainment of cultural diversity. The opportunity to listen to other people's voices and share their visions is crucial if constructive dialogues are to be created and maintained. The Internet and computers is a major communication tools which offer us the opportunity to learn about each other and share knowledge and experiences with all corners of the world.

The are many ways for students and educators to interact with each other and learn cultures and countries by the help of Internet: such as online project pages, forums, chats, discussion board,etc.

Let's focus on online projects based on learning.

The advantage of those projects is that students from any corner of the world having access to Internet can actively participate in activities of the project. Multinational and different-country teams became available , nowadays it is normal to have a team of students from various countries or cities taking part in the project as one entire team. Isn't it amazing! People from other countries with various outlooks and cultures meet together online to share thoughts , solve problems and learn together.

By the time students of our school completed several projects related to cultural exchange they became more tolerant to other cultures. They learned to respect other cultures as well as their own.

Such kind of projects are widely integrated into the classroom in present and elaborated accourding to the curriculum and learning requirements. (see the Examples)

One of the other ways to further the cultural diversity on the Internet is to set up an interactive web-site where participants can share and discuss their knowledge and feelings of different cultures.
