The effects that fast-food has on our society

Today, more than 60% of the population in the West is considered obese. This is because they are eating more processed and fast food than ever. The foods served at all fast-food joints contain height quantity of fats and sugars. Having an access amount of fats and sugars is not good for the body. Not only are they unhealthy but they are also known to be very addictive; causing people to choose fast-foods over healthier diet.

We all wouldn’t be addicted to the appetizing taste of fast-foods if we weren’t aware of its existent. This leads to the other problem of people’s health being harmed. Marketing and advertising have been boosting more than ever. Kids are begging their parents to take tem to eat the delicious looking burger being promoted on the bulletin board in front of a shopping mall.

Once of the main reasons to why fast-food is unhealthy is because of the process to making it. The techniques used to process it are preserved, making the food low quality; which means that the foods aren’t healthy.

Fast-foods in general aren’t the healthiest foods in the world and definitely aren’t in the list of the best foods the world can offer. This doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t eat fast-foods at all. Once in a while it’s alright to give into the temptation and give the new Big Mac at McDonald’s a try. If you try it and realize that it’s the best tasting thing ever, doesn’t mean you should eat it once every week. A burger can contain half the amount of servings you should consume in a day, meaning that if you were to eat a burger you would definitely go over you average daily consumption for that day. Daily or occasional exercise is an important key to living a healthy life, which means if you were to eat a burger or even a whole fast-food meal you should exercise to burn off the calories that you over ate. If you burn off access calories than eating fast-foods is not a problem. You can be a healthy person and still be able to eat fast-foods as long as you don’t go over the amount of servings you should have daily.
