          In Brazil, men and women are not too different. They both have fancy clothes as well as “work” clothes. But you might change your mind about what to wear depending on were you are going.

Men

Fancy Clothing

          Usually when men go to fancy parties (for example a wedding), they wear a suit which is most times black with a matching pair of pants. They also wear a tie which could be a normal tie or a bow tie or they have the option of not wearing a tie. The man chooses what shoes he wants to wear, although, most of the men wear simple black shoes.

Work Clothing

            The clothes that you are going to wear to work depend on where you work. For example, if you are a tennis coach you would probably wear sports clothes like shorts, a good t-shirt and sneakers. But if you work as lawyer, you need to wear good looking clothes. For example, a suit preferably black although you can choose the color you feel like wearing. So, it only depends on your job.

Women

Fancy Clothing

          When women go to fancy parties, they usually wear long dress in whatever color they want to wear. The dress can have sparkles, stars, polka-dots, whatever the women feel like having on their dress they can put it. They also have the choice of wearing skirts with shirts. They choose the shoes, although, every women wears a shoe with a fine peak which has high heels.

Work Clothing

          Women’s work clothing depends on their job.  If you are a swim teacher, you need to wear a bathing suit and wear a pair of flip-flops. But if you are a secretary, it would be preferable if you wore casual clothes of either colorful skirt with a plain white shirt or the opposite. The shoes do not matter, so you can choose whatever pair of shoes you feel like wearing.
