Hello and welcome! This Website explores the Number Seven and its importance in our world. |
If you're an 11 year-old school pupil then this site is for you! We bring you a wide range of topics including Culture, Geography and Science/Nature, but all have one thing in common, the number 7.
Our team worked extremely hard from November 2006 to March 2007 to prepare this website for the ThinkQuest competition and for you. We have all enjoyed working together and we have supported each other through the troubles we have had along the way. This has been a brilliant opportunity and has, all in all, been an exciting journey!
Seven has been thought to be a sacred or lucky number for thousands of years. Seven crops up in everyday life all over the world.
In England we talk about being in seventh heaven when we are very happy, and having seven years of bad luck if you break a mirror. Most children know the story of Snow White and the Seven Dwarves. That now, is just simply a coincidence, but still relates to this peculiar number. Why 7 dwarfs, why not 6?
