We have found four different type of volcanoes. Geysers: 1. A geyser is a hot spring like Old Faithful. 2. They only send out hot water and steam. 3. They don’t blast out lava. 4. They are less dangerous than the volcanoes that blast out lava.

Shield Volcanoes: 1. A shield volcano is a large volcano with shallowly-sloping sides. 2. Shield volcanoes can be so large that they are sometimes considered to be a mountain range, 3. The largest is Mauna Loa on the Big Island of Hawaii

Cinder Cones: 1. A cinder cone is surrounded by cinder . 2. Its crater is filled with water. 3. They are steep, cone-shaped mountains like Mt. Fuji and Mt. Vesuvius. |

Calderas: 1. A caldera is a volcanic feature formed by the collapse of land. 2. After a volcanic explosion the top collapses, water rushes in and the volcano explodes again.

There are about 500 active volcanoes on Earth. There have been earthquakes and volcanoes. They change the Earth in big ways. People have no control over them. They are too big. |
