Positions Diagram

Guard	He runs up the side of the pointguard and helps pointguard set up the play. Also he can shoot or pass the ball depending on his position.
Pointguard	Carries the ball up the court, sets up the play. If he can't find a pass to an open man, he'll shoot.
Forward	Usually positions himself underneath the basket. Also tries to grab rebounds on both offensive and defencive ends.
Center	Takes the tipoff at the beginning of the game and acts as a forward for the rest of the play.
Offence	The team that tries to score on a basket. This team has the ball.
Defence	This team tries to stop the offence from scoring.
