“Give it the herbs!”
You many hear an Australian say this when caught in a high speed motor chase. The real meaning of “give it the herbs” is to go faster, or to accelerate a car. We, the makers  of this site, originally chose this name merely for its catchy ring, the fact that it has the word ‘herb’ in it, and for the joy we got from saying “give it the herbs” in an Australian accent.
With this in mind, please allow us to reinvent this phrase’s meaning for our site purposes. In today’s world, medicine and drugs are everywhere. They are advertised on television, on billboards, and in magazines. Today’s doctors make large amounts of money for just prescribing drugs to patients, and patients with a mere cold leave the hospital upset if their doctor offers them no drugs to ease their discomfort.
Modern drugs may seem like an important and helpful catalyst in treating illness, but the simple fact is that most drugs do not treat the illness for which they are made.  Drugs today only treat the symptoms of illness and not the underlying problems. For example, pain relievers only treat the pain, but they do not treat the underlying cause of the pain. In addition, drugs also have nasty side effects.
This is why we at “Give it the Herbs” now say, well, give it the herbs! Herbs are nature’s natural wonder drug. Many herbs treat ailments just as well as modern day drugs do, they are full of nutrients, and their side effects - if there are any at all - are much less severe. So next time you feel sick, open your web browser, come to this site, and get ready to “Give it the Herbs!”
