what are the effects of heroin ?
short term effects
long term effects

Injecting heroin is felt the strongest out of snorting or smoking. After an injection of heroin a person feels what a user calls “euphoria” or a rush. The user may also feel dizzy, heavy, nauseous, like they can not move, and their senses of the world around them will disappear. The user will be in a drowsy state, awake, but still sleeping. Heroin effects the central nervous system and therefore effects the mental functioning of the user.

Some other short term effects are :

-slurred speech
-slow walk
-droopy eyelids
-vomiting
-constipation

Some long term effects are :

-collapsed veins
-infection of heart lining and valves
-cellulite
-liver disease
-depression
-restlessness
-craving

Many users become addicted quickly, especially with a really hard come down. That makes the user want to do more, in order to stop the feeling of “euphoria” from lessening.

Heroin also effects the user’s life, job and family. Addicts cause everyone else hurt too, not just themselves. When an addict is on a binge, they will stop for nothing. They will emotionally and maybe physically hurt a person in their way, and will steal or pawn objects in order to buy a certain drug.
