Here we've interviewed talented interior designer Mrs. Lori Duval. We asked her some questions, for you to learn a little more about interior design.

 

  • What first interested you in interior design?
  • “That for me is probably because I’ve always had a love in colors and patterns. I think I’ve loved designing since I was a kid.”
  • What is your favorite room to design?
  • “The Dining Room is definetly my favorite room because it’s one of the formal entertainment rooms. It has the personality of the owner in it.”
  • What is your favorite style?
  • My favorite style is probably transitional, which is a mix of modern and traditional. I like transitional because it’s a little different but it still looks nice.”
  • What color palette do you prefer?
  • “I like more of the warmer color tones; more of the yellows, golds, greens and reds.”
  • Do you believe that interior design is an art or an entertainment, and why?
  • “I think it’s definetly an art because when you design someone’s home it’ s a message of that person. It’s your job, as the designer, to convey that message in the design of their home.”
  • How long did you study interior design?
  • "I studied interior design for two years."
  • What types of interior design have you worked with?
  • "I’ve worked with commercial and residential."
