Q. Who do you think is the most vulnerable to phishing? Should phishing even be a matter of concern for high school/university students? |
![]() |
Everyone. The most important is awareness. Phishing attacks are not limited to banking alone. Online shopping websites and payment aggregators itself experience constant phishing attacks as such the target can be anyone who goes online. |

Q. How do you deal with customers who have gotten phished? |
![]() |
We are not at liberty to answer this question. |

Q. What are the safeguards that you - as one of the most reputed banks in the world, take to protect the identities of your customers and protect them from getting phished? |
![]() |
One of the most significant safeguards that was put up is the 2-factor authentication which was recently introduced in Dec 2006. Now, the user requires to enter what he knows (PINS, passwords) and what he has (one time time-based passwords through tokens, SMS). Please refer to our website for more details. But the most important aspect is constant customer education. |

Q. On a parting note, would you like to give any advice to our readers, who most likely are high school / university students. |

When using the internet especially for sensitive transactions be it for banking, logging to your email account or shopping, you need to use a PC that you can trust and at best that you protect (i.e. properly set firewall, updated anti-virus, patched OS just to name a few.) In addition, you need to type the URL rather than clicking on the link from any email messages. Last but not the least, users should always be on guard about giving out their personal information. |
