Here are some specific things you can do in your bedroom to help save the environment.
Global Warming and Electricity
-
Turn off and unplug any electronics when
you’re not using them.
-
Turn off lights when you don’t need them.
-
On hot summer days, don’t turn on the air
conditioning. Instead, open your windows.
-
On cold winter days, don’t turn up the heat. Put on sweatshirts, sweatpants, sweaters or blankets.
-
When you’re sleeping during cold winter nights, don’t turn up the heat. Put some extra blankets on your bed.
The 3R’s
-
If you draw or do homework in your room,
be sure to use the back of papers.
-
Recycle any used papers.
-
From now on, make sure that you only buy notebooks, notepads, journals, stationery, etc. that are made from recycled material.
-
Give your toys, clothes, books, and other things
that you don’t want anymore to people who can use them.
-
Fix or repair anything in your bedroom that is broken instead of throwing it away and buying a new one.
-
Make crafts out of recycled materials.
-
Reuse things you would normally throw away and turn them into desk organizers, containers for small items such as hair accessories and jewelry, school supply holders, etc.
Trees
-
Use both sides of paper.
-
Recycle any paper products that you can’t use any more.
