A child with Tay-Sachs Disease is usually tested for the disease after the child begins experiencing hearing, seeing, and movement problems. Some of the symptoms of Tay-Sachs that occur include:

· Develops normally in the first 3 to 6 months of life

·  Loses sight, hearing, and movement over the years

·  Develops a red spot on the back of the eye

·  Stops smiling  and crawling

·  Begins having seizures by age 2

·  Death occurs usually by age 5
