Hereditary Hemochromatosis is a common disorder.  Some children with the gene do not develop symptoms for Hereditary Hemochromatosis because the iron overload takes many years to accumulate.  If the child does develop the disorder early enough, these are some of the symptoms that may occur:

·   Early arthritis pains

·   Joint and muscle pains

·   Chronic fatigue

·   Early depression, disorientation, and memory problems

·   Stomach swelling, abdominal pain, diarrhea, or nausea

·   Gay or bronze skin (close to a suntan)

·   Enlarged liver

·   Hair loss
