Suppose you are at school and you begin to stutter when you talk and your eyes keep blinking uncontrollably If this keeps up over a long period of time, you may have a genetic disorder known as Tourette Syndrome or “TICS.”  The best thing to do would be to tell an adult about your symptoms using very vivid descriptions about what has been happening to your body.  If you do indeed have the disorder, your parents will need to get you an appointment as soon as possible to see what your doctor wants to do to help treat the cause of the disorder. Your doctor will probably not be able to prescribe anything because there is no cure for TS, but he might help you handle the stress that comes with the disorder.
