Muscular Dystrophy (MD) is a genetic disorder which targets and weakens body’s muscles.  This disease prevents the body from making essential proteins that help the muscles function normally.  This disease can cause the affected individual to lose use of the legs and makes the person prone to other illness.  This disease affects approximately 400 people each year in the United States alone, and it can differ in severity from minimal to terminal.
