Islam is a religion that is based on the teachings of Muhammad. Muhammad is one of God’s messengers. This religion started in the 7th century in Saudi Arabia. Islam began after Gabriel told Muhammad he was one of God’s messengers. Gabriel is an angel sent by God. Islam spread by Muhammad telling people about it. He would say things like there is only one God.Islam emphasizes a lot on the five pillars. These five pillars are Shahadah, Salat, Siyam, Zakat, and Hajj. Shahadah means the testimony of faith. Salatmeans the daily prayer. Siyam means fasting on Ramadan. Zakat means giving money to the poor. Hajj means the trip taken to Mecca. All these pillars are things that a Muslim should follow, if they’re in the state of being able to do it. The overall message of Islam is to be peaceful.
