Why Jerusalem Influences Islam

In the religion of Islam, the people part of the religion are believers of God. Muhammad is one prophet of God. They recognize him most because he is the founder of Islam. This is the story of how he became a prophet. Muhammad and his followers went to battle against the Makkans life wasn’t that easy for them. At this period Muhammad and his followers were having trouble with the simplest things. For example, food was something hard to get. This was due to them growing poor. A little after this time the bad fortune was put to an end. Something wonderful had happened. A winged horse had come to pick up Muhammad to take him to Jerusalem. Here he met earlier prophets and God. Muhammad prayed with earlier prophets. He prayed with earlier prophets such as Jesus, Moses, and Abraham. When he met God he also went to and saw heaven. It is believed that this was the night Muhammad was told to make the rule of praying five times a day. This event is called the Night Journey. To celebrate the Night Journey there is a holiday for it. It is called Isra wa Al-Miraj. After this Jerusalem was known to be holy to Islam.
