Isra wa Al-Miraj

Isra wa Al-Miraj is a holiday that shows respect of when Muhammad went on his night journey and stopped to pray in a spot of Jerusalem. Isra wa Al-Miraj is similar to your normal family gathering. During this holiday family comes together into one household and a family affair begins. This is how most Islam holidays are started; with family. The thing different about this night is that elders tell the younger ones all about Muhammad and his Night Journey. During this night children are also give gifts. Then there is a feast waiting to be eaten. The feast probably consists of rice because in Islam rice is one of those common things eaten. One thing you would never see is foods that are Haram. Foods that are Haram are basically types of animal. These types of animals can range from animals that are not slaughtered properly to animals that are carnivores. After this feast there would be some tea and biscuits. When the tea and biscuits are done the night comes to an end. Everyone goes home and that was it for Isra wa Al-Miraj.
