Renaissance armor changed dramatically from the medieval time frame because in the Renaissance swords were the main weapons used. Battle styles were also different and emphasized on swords. Renaissance armor helped solders to defend themselves from opposing warriors that have other weapons that can cause them to die. Solders wielded armor and weapons when they went into war. Aketon was a kind of armor used that was like a quilted garment that absorbed some of the impact of the hit or shock. A Burgonet is an open-faced helmet with a crest and cheek-guards. Camail is a screen hanging from a helmet that protects your chin, neck, throat and shoulders. Gardebras is a full arm protection gear. A Hauberk is a breastplate, that has the length of a knee or longer, originally having shorter sleeves but by the 12th century it was extended to the wrist. Later, the hauberk sleeve became even advanced and ended in mail mittens called mufflers. These armor helped people from dying by fatal swords. They shaped modern armor to become better to save people from killing each other. As the battle weapons changed the armor went along with it. With this we can see how they made weapons better for humanity and save other lives.
