The region will also be greatly affected by global warming. The land will also be changed. The forest location will also change. Some forests will become deserts and some deserts might become new forests. The reason this would happen is some places could suddenly get no water and the forest would die while other places get enough rain to grow a forest. Also though there might be more forests fires because of storms. Also animals living in certain areas will have to migrate to totally new places in order to survive. The plants living in certain areas will also change and not survive any longer. Also places like national parks which are choosen because of their climate may change locations or be wiped out. The reason this all happens is the heat will affect all the locations like lessening heat in one area and increasing heat in another area.
Another issue with global warming is the heat that is melting the Arctic. This region has heated up twice as much as the rest of the world over the past 50 years. Ice and glaciers are melting and vanishing. Also since the ice is metling this is actually speeding up the whole globe's heating. The reason that ice melting speeds up global warming is the ice acts like a mirror and reflects some of the heat back up the atmosphere with the ice disappearing less heat is getting reflected back to the atmosphere. Also the Arctic brings cooler winds to America and Canada.
One more issue about global warming is the affect it has on the ocean. The ocean plays a very important part in keeping the world's temperature cool. The ocean stores 70 percent more heat than the atmosphere. The ocean is at least slowing down the effects of global warming.
The marine life in the ocean will also be affected by the global warming. The marine life is being stressed by the increase in temperature of the sea. El Nino is caused by changes in the atmosphere. It is considered a phenomenon. It usually occurs 3 to 5 years. It is a storm. It has occured several times during the past 20 years. It killed a lot of marine life. Also the phytoplankton might start to die because of the increase in the ocean temperature. This could affect everything because phytoplankton is the base of the food chain.
