There are many causes to global warming. Compared to humans, though, these seem to be very few. There are a few major natural causes. They are explosions on the sun, meteors hitting earth’s surface, large volcanic eruptions, changes in earth’s orbit, changes in earth’s orientation, and naturally caused fires. Explosions on the sun, more commonly known as sunspots, send magnetic solar wind towards Earth, and can cause large increases or decreases in temperature. Meteorites hitting Earth can also help out global warming. The debris that is set aloft on impact can block out the sunlight in a large area, or it can trap sunlight. Volcanic eruptions release green-house-gases, heat, and ash into the atmosphere. You’ve only learned about a few of the natural causes mentioned. Here are the rest of them. Changes in Earth’s orbit can take us closer, or farther away from the sun. This affects the amount of sunlight, radiation, and solar wind. The orbit could cause an Ice age in the human era. Earth’s orientation towards the sun can also cause fairly large changes. If the orientation changes (the north comes down to where the equator used to be) glaciers would melt, and cause the oceans to rise. Major floods would occur and low-lying land masses would be submersed under water.
There is a controversy over the fact that humans are causing global warming more than natural causes. Many scientists say that global warming is caused by the oceans heating up, not the atmosphere. They have right to believe this, since the oceans are warmer than the air. Scientists also say that there is no truly correct technique to find out the CO2 levels in the Atmosphere. The scientists also say that there isn’t a lot to worry about, since every ice age starts with the warming of the Earth, and that this is a normal, natural process. They also say that we are being lied to. Though we are told that we put out 8.3 giga tons, they don’t tell us what it’s out of. In reality it is out of 750 giga tons of CO2.
