Europe today

[BattlingEnslavement][Countries who abolished slavery][Europe today][Geography and economy]

In Europe today, slavery can be defined as labor without pay under the threat of violence. The amount of slaves has been brought down to a significantly lower level, but there are still slaves even though it goes against the Declaration of Human Rights. In the end, I don’t believe that slavery in Europe will ever be abolished because people will probably always need them to work on their farms.

In 1933, Nazi’s worked millions of Jewish slaves to death in concentration camps. The Jews died as a result of forced labor. On December 10, 1948, the General Assembly of the United Nations adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Article four states that if one man becomes a slave against their will, the Slave Trade is complete and fully prohibited. In this time period, slaves were controlled by their masters who ran their entire lives. They could kill their slaves, sell them, or use them as payment for debt if they needed.
