A recent surge of fighting has caused an estimated 11,000 women and children to flee for their lives. The only place left for these tormented beings appeared to be in an old Ottash camp. Because of the vast population that is either malnourished or wounded Unicef has taken a step up. Their partners have also contributed to meet the urgency of their needs. These refugees need shelter, water, and food. They have set up a feeding plan that tends to less or more severe cases of malnutrition. One of the acts that caused so many to flee in terror was the Janjaweed militia torching a village burning a mother nearly to death and killing copious amounts of men and adolescent boys, all innocent. Unicef is doing its best to help the thousands in need.
