Teen violence is not a simple topic and there isn't a simple answer to the problem. After reading and studying the facts we have come to the following conclusions.
Media violence may or may not lead to teens being violent. It might because some teens are impressionable because of other reasons. Some reasons are: they see the people in games and on televison do the stuff so they think its okay or they think the people are cool and try to copy them. But many people do view violent programs and games but are not violent because they are not impressionable.
However, we do think that using drugs and alcohol will lead to teen violence because it actually changes the brain chemistry. Of course family abuse has a lot to do with drug and alcohol abuse. If a family member is an alcoholic or a drug user they may harm their childern or other people in their family.
We do think that society has a lot to do with the level of violence in a country. When researching world violence levels, we found that Jamaica has one of the highest levels of teen violence in the world and a social climate of poverty and corruption. Thailand has a very stable social environment and very little teen violence.
Working on social issues such as poverty would do more to help teens than anything else people could do!
