Our Team...
Amanda
Amanda is our enthusiastic team leader! She enjoys science (one might call her a "science geek"), clothes and shopping, playing the flute, Pirates of the Caribbean (secretly, she plans to become a pirate with Megan-see her info below) and belly dancing. She is going to attend the University of Vermont and plans to major in biological science/pre-physical therapy. Along with being a member of National Honor Society, Amanda is a very active student, as she is the vice president of student council and her class council. You can find her behind the stage at our school's theatre productions as the stage manager. Amanda is an amazing person to be around and she is a friendly person sure to make you smile. Amanda was responsible for writing the Global Warming, Higher Education, and Voting articles, and making the homepage.
Megan
Megan is a talented three-sport varsity athlete (soccer, basketball, and softball). She plans to attend Norwich University (where she will be playing soccer for the Lady Cadets) and major in History. She secretly aspires to be a pirate along with Amanda when they grow older. You can find Megan behind the stages of our school productions beautifying our actors with her hair and makeup skills. She is also involved in National Honor Society and is the secretary of student council. As if that wasn't enough, she is also at the top of her class. She's known for saying whatever pops into her head, supplying everyone around her with a good laugh. Megan was responsible for writing the Debt Limit, Foreign Aid, and Wage Gap articles, and putting all of the pages together.
Nikki
Nikki can be found around school with her beautiful smile. She is an avid, dedicated Red Sox Baseball fan and is always sure to defend her team. Although Nikki has cerebral palsy and uses adaptive technology, she is able to attend and participate in most regular high school classes. What she may lack in physical ability is made up for by her positive attitude. Her sense of humor is always there to provide a much-needed morale boost. Nikki was responsible for writing the Outsourcing and Homelessness and Poverty articles.
Jessica
Jessica is a caring and friendly person. Her easygoing attitude makes her a very approachable person. She is a three-sport varsity athlete (soccer, basketball, and softball) and a dedicated stage manager for our school productions. Jess is also president of student council and National Honor Society. She enjoys eating Ben and Jerry’s ice cream and creamies with Lauren and spending time with friends. Jessica was responsible writing the Medicare, Medicare v. Medicaid, Social Security, Prison System and Universal Healthcare articles.
Lauren
Lauren is probably known as the craziest person in our group (in a good way)! She is known around school for her curly hair, wide smile, and fun-loving attitude. She is the vice president of her class, a talented flute/saxophone player, a member of National Honor Society, and a friend to many people around her school. Just a glimpse at her amazing dance skills is enough to brighten your day! Lauren was responsible for writing the Medicaid, Welfare, American Dream articles.
