Kenya is located in eastern Africa. The middle of the country runs through the equator. Along the coast of the Indian Ocean, Kenya is covered with Mangrove and Sandalwood trees.Kenya is known mostly for its savanna. Inhabitants of the savanna include the Elephant, Lion, Giraffe and Ostrich. Many of these animals can also be found in wildlife preserves. The preserves protect the animals from poachers or people who hunt illegally.Poachers mainly hunt Rhinoceroses and Elephants. The horn on the Rhino is very valuable and the poachers sell it for large sums of money. Elephants are hunted for thier tusks, which are made up of ivory, another valuable material that is also sold.
