What is Diabetes?

Diabetes is a disease that affects your blood glucosein your pancreas. It is when your blood glucose is higher than normal. When you eat your food it is turned into glucose. The glucose is used for energy.

In your stomach there is an organ called the pancreas that makes insulin. The insulin helps get glucose to the cells in your body. When you have diabetes you can’t make insulin in your body or you don’t use it that well in your body. Then what happens in your body is that your sugar builds up in your body.

 

Diabetes can be a deadly disease, but if properly controlled it can become very easy to take care of.

 

Some people don't let diabetes rule their life, it's easy for them to take care of it. It comes naturally to them to give shots or a finger pricks.Some people let diabetes rule their lives and they have to have it done for them.
