How to make the ID: long spider-like body, six legs at the side of the body, two large eyes at the sides of the head, a pair of small wings begin to develop on the back. Adult has two pairs of wings that are flat or horizontal at rest. Its Color: Nymph - green, brown, black . How it reproduces: deposits eggs on top of water and they drift to the bottom. Metamorphosis: Incomplete Its food: Other macroinvertebrates, small fish, tadpoles. Indicator: lower dissolved oxygen content, found in slower moving streams and ponds. Size: up to 2 inches in length, but the adult can be up to 4 inches in length. |
