Personal Accounts

Amputations affect people in very powerful ways. Both the amputee and the family of the amputee have many emotional feelings regarding the disability. Different people will be affected differently, of course. One teenager may feel differently than another, who may feel differently than an adult. Family members also respond to amputation differently. Parents, siblings, and others can be affected in diverse ways. Through reading the accounts of people who are affected, a better understanding can result about the physical and emotional challenges of having an amputation.
