What Is B.M.I?
B.M.I. or Body Mass Index is a system used to decide whether a patient is overweight, healthy, at risk, or underweight.
History of B.M.I
In the nineteenth century, a Belgian scientist named Adolphe Quetelet developed a way to measure whether a patient is overweight or not. The Quetelet Index of Obesity worked by dividing the patient's weight by the square of his or hers height Later the name was changed to Body Mass Index.
B.M.I And Obesity
Today, Body Mass Index calculators can be found online, in the local doctor's office, and many health and fitness centers. Obesity can be determined through the B.M.I system. If a certain person has a B.M.I range in the overweight category, they might be suffering from obesity. If another person has a weight range in the at risk category, they may still have time to get healthy. The healthy category is where the humans should be in! T
