Welcome
In areas of modern civilization, it is difficult to escape the constant bombardment of advertisement through TV commercials.
First: What is a commercial? Commercials are everywhere, whether you pay attention to them or not. They are those annoying mini-shows inbetween your favorite programs, those seemingly endless array of pictures that take up space in between the articles that you read in your morning newspaper. They are advertisments made by companies to catch your attention and encourage you to buy their products. These short TV programs used to alert you to new products and their supposed benefits take up a large portion of television airtime. They are successful in getting certain points across to viewers, which is usually "buy this product, you need it" although that is not how it is usually put.
Most children watch an average of 40,000 commercials a year and the percentage of TV shows that are aired at any given time increases yearly. Now, approximately 30% of any given TV show is made of commercials. Television advertisements gross more than $20 billion in revenue yearly. With so many commercials everywhere, chances are a flashy commercial somewhere will catch yor attention. Commercials are also growing moe convincing and successful as image quality and other special affects are used to create more appeal without entirely bringing actual information and limits to your attention. So you can see how much this world depends on commercials, and why they are so effective.
You probably see commercials everyday, but how much do you really know about them? For most people, probably not much. That's what we strive to change with our informative website. The links to the left will perhaps explain a part of the commercial world, and what it can do.
