Evacuation Drill

"Take fire drills seriously. They’re more than bothersome interruptions. Think of all the passengers on the Titanic who wished they had paid closer attention during the lifeboat drill."- this was one of the key statements in one of the workshops. And we dwelled deeply into the same to make it a milestone in our success story.

A disaster can strike at any moment. So, it is necessary to be prepared to face them. We conducted evacuation drills in our school to educate children about disaster mitigation. We made three routes for children to vacate the building incase a fire outbreak in our school. Incase all the routes are blocked the children are supposed to make an emergency route (tie some knots and then climb down). Extra classes were conducted to teach the children how to use a fire extinguisher. We organized skits and plays in our assembly of how to handle an emergency. Drills were conducted in the school and the senior students helped the younger students exit so that they do not panic and move out in a systematic manner to avoid stampedes or trampling. We also commanded the crucial moment’s commandments to ensure safety and security. This way we were prepared and united to face any kind of disaster.
