stress management
I'm going to be happy today!
Though the skies are cloudy and grey.
No matter what comes my way-
I'm going to be happy today!
Experience of stress is the outcome of emotions evaluating distress, fear and anger, which encloses an individual in his or her shell . Everyone experiences stress at some time or other. Death of loved ones, natural disasters, accidents, sufferings of the weaker ones, backwardness, ignorance, loneliness, sexual harassment, physical and mental torture in an over and subtle form, deprivation lack of love, reduced opportunity, physical and mental disease, can all be stressful. The stress reaction prepares the mind and body to react to any situation that is new, threatening or exciting. The way a person handles stress determines whether it is helpful or harmful, and chronic unrelieved stress can cause headaches, backaches, loss of appetite, fatigue, depression and potentially serious physical problems.
Nature’s
wrath, fury and natural disaster bring agony and stress. It changes life
completely and leave indelible scars. The wound can heal up with passage of time
but the person who has suffered the agony can visualize the incident as the
impact is deep down which cannot be forgotten and keeps on haunting him
throughout his life. Sometimes stressful experience is so intense that it
completely torments self. A girl being sexually harassed at an early age may
have a deep down scar in her unconsciousness and is enable to enjoy hetrosexual
relations throughout her life.
Stress lowers the thinking capability of an individual and also Disaster leads to Stress. It therefore became an important area in our strategy building. Our School Psychologist -Mrs. Vipula Gupta Conducted various workshops with the students. We also conducted dance classes, Yoga and meditation sessions. These stress relieving techniques were further imparted by the students to our rural community and the victims of DLF sector fire break out.
