Streetluge is a sport based off of ice luge, but instead it uses the road.  Streetluge is a gravity sport that can allow you to reach speeds of up to 80 miles per hour.  It can be faster or slower depending on the steepness of the road.

Streetluge riders usualy ride on eight-foot boards that are not motorized.  The boards are usualy made out of steel and aluminum, containing 4-6 wheels.  These boards are called ‘luge boards.’  To turn a luge board, you lean from side to side depending on what direction you would like to go. The people ride a small portion of an inch off the ground.  People can wear skintight suits so they can gain speed.  Since you are going fast when you are on a luge board, most people wear elbow pads, kneepads, and wrist pads, shoulder pads, etc. Another big factor for your safety is a helmet.

Streetluging can be very dangerous. Many, many injuries occur in this sport.  People may sometimes have their elbow bone poke out through the skin, get broken fingers, and/or get crushed ankles.  People may get concussions.  People may also get a very bad injury: death. You DO NOT want to try this sport. It is very, very dangerous.
