Cheese hill rolling is an event that happens every year in May. This event takes place at Cooper’s Hill in Glouster, England. The Competitors race down the hill after a double Glouster cheese. This cheese weighs about 9 pounds. While rolling down the hill it can reach speeds of 70 mph. In this sport people want to be the first person to touch the cheese. There is one problem with this they are racing down a very steep hill that has many divots. If their legs would happen to get caught in those holes you could sprain or break your ankle. The record number of bones broken is 9. There are several ambulances at the bottom of the hill just in case anything happens. It is a very steep climb to the top but a very scary roll to the bottom. If you end up winning you get the 9 lb roll of cheese. For several years the winner has been in the hospital with varies injuries. |
