     Starting from the age of 14, each year, during the month of Ramadhan, must perform islamic fasting (not eating any food, not smoking, not drinking and not having sex) from dawn till dusk. And there is also another obligation that of jihad – holly war, in case that the interests of the Islam are offended. There are also, six articles of faith in Islam, belief in Allah, in the Angels, in the Books of Allah – the Scriptures, in the Prophets of Allah, and in the Day of Judgment. The Judgment Day was a day promised by Allah, in which the truth about every person is revealed. The souls will be put to walk a bridge, thinner than a hair or a cutting blade, and the ones that were true to the religion, and to Allah will go in heaven, and the others, will fall in hell. The Mosque is the temple of the Muslims. They usually have 1 or more towers -minarets. One of them is used to call the followers to prayer –chore done by the muezzin. There is no clergy. Anyone lead the people into prayer, if his good at it. There are some religious servants. There is the sheik – the ruler of the religious community (sheik = old person). The calling to prayer is done by the muezzin and after the gathering in the temple, the imam leads the prayer – the imam can also lead the spiritual community - Sunni.. For solving religious problems, there is the mufti or qadi. All the power of both religious and laic communities was once appointed to the caliph.

     There are many religious festivities. There is the Friday, the usual resting and celebrating day. There is the 10th day of the year, the day Prophet Muhammad was born and the day he died, the little bairam (at the end of the Ramadhan and the great bairam) the day of “sacrifices”, this last holiday refers to the day of pilgrimage to Mekkah, and lasts 4 days. There are many rituals in the life of a Muslim. The religious life begins in the moment the Islamic belief “La illaha Illallah ua Muhammadun-rasul-Illah” The boys are circumcised and when they are old enough to go to the school they will learn the Qur’an. Marriage has also rituals. After the bringing of the bride, in ritual manner, there are diverse magical practices and phrases. Also, there are made predictions about their future. The Muslims bury their dead. If a person died in the morning, he is buried the same day, if he has died in the evening, that person is buried, the following day. On the way to the grave, the imam, recites passages from the Qur’an.

     Facts: adding the words: peace be upon him or peace and blessing on him, after the name of a prophet means respect for that prophet or person – same thing in Christianity, after a person has died.
