Comparing Religions

     Concept about God
Christians, Hebrews and Muslims have the same concept of God; he is unique, greatest, kindest etc. The only difference is that Christians think that God is a single authority but composed from three persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Buddhists don’t deny the existence of God, but in stood of putting accent on importance of God, of respecting laws, they value the relationship of man with his spiritual essence.

     Founder and Holy Book
Every religion has a person that started it all, even if the knowledge came from God “directly” as a message or if it came from studying and realizing what is best for humanity. In both cases we are dealing with something called a spark, as divine intervention. This person represents the symbol of his religion even if he did really exist or not. As an example, Nile tribes consider that each religious group possesses a civilizing hero sent directly but God, to help and sustain them. This is the knowledge of the world, a truism.

So, Christians, have Jesus of Nazareth, regarded by they as the Christ, who reformed Judaism 2.000 years ago and gave a new vision on human essence, Muslims have Muhammad, the Great Prophet who wrote the Quran and Hebrews, Buddhists have Buddha who founded the philosophy and teachings of fundamental Buddhism and Moses who lead the Hebrew nation out of Egypt, through desert, to give them the Promised Land, Palestine. He also wrote a great part of the Torah, but he is a prophet, kind of a founder, even though Hebrew are still waiting for their Messiah to come.

A sacred book is a record of all the knowledge belonging to a group, including traditions, folklore and other ethnic particularities. So, in this fact Hebrew have Torah, written by Moses, Christians have the Holy Bible (Torah +New Testament) and Muslims have the Quran (Al’ Qur’an). The Buddhist knowledge is structured in the Dharma, Vinaya and Abhidarma.
