When you walk up to him he says that he is the engineer. "I'm in charge of running the train" he says. You notice someone else in the train and ask the engineer. "Oh he's the fireman or stoker" replies the engineer. "He takes the coal from the tender; the tender is the train car behind the locomotive. It carries the coal and water that power the train."
You then walk up to the fireman and say "Hi". He tells you that this kind of locomotive is powered by steam. He also tells you that there are other ways to power a train. Then he reaches into his pocket and gives you a piece of paper.
