TV shows

Cartoons are big with elementary school children. They like cartoons like Pokemon, Yugio, Beyblade, Naruto and more. Cartoon pictures in Japan are called manga.

Girls aged 10 or over like watching their favourite atars on music programs, dramas, quiz and talk shows and comedies. Boys and girls in their early teens often often watch sports broadcasts in addition to music shows and drama's.

The Ring

The Ring is a japanese horror film which was brought to America. It is about a video people watch and one week later a strange little girl named Sadaco curses them.

Pokemon: Mewtwo strikes back.

This Pokemon progamme was the first Pokemon film ever made. It was about some scientists who created a clone of the world's rarest Pokemon named Mew. The clone is called Mewtwo and can't stand staying in the lab much longer. He breaks out and begins to clone other Pokemon and attempt to find his destiny.

Memoirs of a geisha.

Memoirs of a geisha is about a Japanese love story. It is a fictional film. Memoirs of a geisha may be a little bit disappointing for you if you like action packed movies but good for you if you like love stories.

Seven samurai.
The seven samurai is known to be the greatest film to ever come out in Japan .It is for three and a half hours long (207 minutes long). The director is called Akira Kurosawa and the stars are called Toshire Mifune, Takashi Shimura and Isao Kimura. It was released on March 16th 1992.

Spirited away.

Spirited away came out in 2001. It is animated and the drawings are manga. The story is about a ten year old girl goes to a strange tunnel with her family. They find a deserted village but the shops and cafes are still open. The girl is called Chihiro. She has been cut off from the real world and is trapped in a strange new one.
